Frequently Asked Questions:

1. I'm worried that my child is not as active as he/she should be. What will having a Personal Fitness Coach do for my child?
Our main goal is to make sure your child has fun while staying active. Through our experience we have realized that a child typically becomes inactive because he/she either hasn't found that activity or activities to get them exciting about moving and/or they lack confidence in their fitness abilities. We design fitness activities for your child with the purpose of building their confidence while improving strength, balance, coordination and cardiovascular endurance.

2. My child plays sports and would like to continue. How can my child benefit from a Personal Fitness Coach?
If your child plays a team sport they usually do not receive the proper one on one attention they deserve. Because of this, your child may not develop the proper physical skill as quickly as they should. With 10 to 20 youth on a team, coaches do not always have the time to focus crucial areas such as building strength, balance, coordination, form and the finer points of skill development. We work with your young athlete to take them to the next level of their physical abilities.

3. Where would you train my child?
Much like our personal training clients our parents enjoy the 3 C’s of In-Home Personal Fitness Training for their child – Comfort, Care, and Convenience. We train your child in your home, at a nearby outdoor space or a gym in your building.

4. I'm interested in signing my child up to work with a Personal Fitness Coach. How do I get started?
Much like our adult training clients we would first set up a free consultation with you and your child. We like to find out what your child likes to do, what they don't like to do, what have you tried in the past that worked and what didn't work. We would also demonstrate a fun fitness session and go over your child's health history.

5. How long would my child need to work with a Personal Fitness Coach to reach their goals?
Parents my have the same goals for their child – become more active, build confidence, gain strength, etc. But, every child is different so every child will have a program designed specifically for them. We understand how busy your child is with homework, chores, friends and social events so we encourage you to start of with 1-2 sessions per week in order to integrate training into their regular day to day schedule.

6. What precautions have been made to sure the Personal Fitness Coach is safe and qualified to work with my child?
Our youth fitness training experts have been carefully screened and trained. All trainers are required to have experience working with children. A minimum of 2 personal and professional references are checked.

"My daughter Ellie, who is 16, started working with her Personal Fitness Coach shortly after I did and now my father, who is 79, works out with one as well. I've been working with Fit 4 Life NYC since the fall of last year and hope to continue for years to come." - Louly, Brooklyn-
